Everybody knows that Xinzhu is the computer center of Taiwan. And actually, I don't know much else about it besides that. haha. The feeling
I had while there was good, the people quite nice looking, and the atmosphere buzzing with ... who knows, maybe neutrinos from all the computers :)
From the guys I was riding with, I heard that Xinzhu is a very expensive city to live in. Also, that its really windy. Indeed, while I was
there it was quite windy. Another thing to note is that Xinzhu, unlike Taichung, is not protected by
mountains from the weather - which means that Xinzhu rains more.
Ok, so the weather not always so great. What about shopping? Damn, the Sogo department store is right next to the f-ing Train Station.
I don't think it could get much more convenient than that. Also, there's a lovely park right next to the train station and the Sogo, with
a 7-11 nearby, could just go in, grab a beer and some snacks, take it to the park, and relax. Seems pretty good.
Also, while I was there I noticed a lot of fighter jets flying by, very loud - another minus.
Summed up:
- PLUS: good atmosphere.
- PLUS: good beach view.
- PLUS: nice people.
- PLUS: good place to drink beer by train station.
- MINUS: too windy.
- MINUS: rains too much.
- MINUS: too expensive.
- MINUS: Sogo is evil.
- MINUS: may be first placed attacked by China, too many fighter jets are too loud.
